Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museum in the Jaipur city of Rajasthan. It was designed by Colonel Sir Swinton Jacob in 1876 to greet King Edward VII as Prince of Wales was on his visit to India. It was made open to public after 10 years. The museum is situated at the center of Ram Nivas  Baug.
 It displays rare articles including textiles, carpets, paintings, metal and wood crafts, pottery, arms and weapons, flora and fauna of the state, toys, dolls and even an Egyptian mummy that belongs to the Ptolemaic Epoch, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, colourful crystal works etc. In this museum, one gallery is dedicated to Mehndi, body art and great Rajasthani motifs and designs.

Every pillar of the Albert Hall Museum has a different design. Puppets and Phad paintings are also displayed in a separate gallery. It is a must-visit place for tourists as you can have a look at the royal belonging and know how their life style was.

    Nice post. Albert Hall Museum, also known as the Government Central Museum, this one of the oldest museums ofJaipur and retains the essence of the Maharajas of Jaipur. Govind Dev ji

Govind Dev ji      As the name suggests, this temple is of Lord Govind Dev ji - The original idol of Lord Goivnd Dev ji was found by the follower of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu named Roop Goswami about 450 years ago. It is said that Maharaja Sawai Jai singh installed the idol after it was brought from Vrindavan when Mughal ruler Aurangzeb tried to destroy it. After that Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh built his new palace ‘Chandra Mahal’ in front of it so that the first thing in the morning he could do is to take blessings of the lord. Govind Dev ji temple gets open seven times a day for people to offer worship as well as for ‘aartis’ and ‘bhogs’. Every time the doors get open, you can see idols of lord in different clothes, long garlands and beautiful jewellery. You can hear soothing songs offered to lord called “bhajans”, the atmosphere of this place is so peaceful and relaxing that you forget all you worries for that moment of time.
